Bahar, Sara and Tatenda

Commisioned by Newcastle Carers, I produced this animation in collaboration with refugees, asylum seekers and carers in Newcastle. Through a series of creative workshops and interventions, the participants created the charcaters, storylines, scripts, storyboards and artwork that led to the final films. Below is a making of film showing this process.

“Lily made this animation project a success, her ability to engage with a wide variety of participants despite language barriers and other challenges was outstanding. Lily used creative ways to hear the voices of asylum seekers and refugees and these voices shone through in the final animation which Lily was able to pull together creating an outstanding final piece. We couldn’t be happier with the way this project has gone and that is largely down to Lily’s dedication, adaptability and enthusiasm.”
